Stages of child Development

At Amiguitos, we know how important it is for your child to reach their milestones. To help with this process, we use Frogstreet and Niños Abordo curriculums. Social emotional learning is provided by the Conscious Discipline curriculum. The following are a glimpse of what we offer at Amiguitos.

4-12 Months

During this stage, your infant will start exploring with their five senses. At Amiguitos, we help exercise their muscles so they may start turning, crawling, grasping and walking. We focus on developmental milestones.

012

1-2 years

During this stage, your child will start to walk independently, hold a sippy cup, and start to explore more. At Amiguitos, we provide activities with items to enhance fine motor skills. We also start teaching gross motor skills which include walking up and down stairs, jumping, and balancing. We encourage them use their verbal and non- verbal communication skills.

During this stage, your child will develop a concept of self. They will begin building, using paint, and make simple sentences. We encourage our students to start using their words, put on their own shoes, and follow in a line.

4-5 years

During this stage, your child will continue to increase their independence, become curious, and listen to explanations. At Amiguitos, we allow children to problem solve through play. You may expect them to come home with projects made out of recycled material and stories about all the fun they had that day!

During this stage, your child will begin to seek adult approval, create, and tell stories. At Amiguitos, we encourage our students to start reading and writing in Spanish, complete certain tasks independently, and identify the concepts of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

"Amiguitos has truly become a home away from home for our little one. We're incredibly grateful to witness her enthusiasm every morning as she eagerly joins her teachers and friends. The growth we see is amazing - like the day she proudly counted to 10 in Spanish, a delightful surprise for both my partner and me."
